Wiser alternative: field agents, quotes, and right-sizing the buy

Wiser Solutions, at wiser.com, publishes no prices, no tiers and no billing metric, and there is no Pricing link in its navigation. The wiser.com/pricing URL loads a Price Monitoring product page, not a cost page. A Wiser alternative fits mid-market buyers who need published pricing and online-only data.

We sell a competing product. Every figure above comes from Wiser Solutions's own published pages on the date shown, so you can check it. Pricing changes without notice — if something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it.

Wiser Solutions, the company behind wiser.com, publishes no prices. Checked on 24 July 2026, there is no Pricing link in the site navigation, no tiers or editions appear anywhere, and no pricing model, billing metric or scoping variable is stated on any page. The company sells three Intelligence lines, Price, Market and MAP, and its stated differentiator is collecting data both online and in physical stores through a field-agent network. That last part is the whole decision. Sending a person into a shop to photograph a shelf is a real operation that costs real money, and it is a capability we do not have and cannot replicate with crawling. If your shelf prices matter as much as your web prices, Wiser is aimed at you and you should book the demo. If every competitor you care about is a website, you are being quoted for an operational capability you will never use.

What Wiser costs

There is no published answer, and we will not repeat a third-party estimate as though it were theirs. Here is exactly what we checked on 24 July 2026 and what we found, so you know what to ask for and what to ignore.

What is bundled and what is extraPrice Intelligence, Market Intelligence and MAP Intelligence appear to be separately sold solution lines, but the site never states this, so treat it as unconfirmed. In-store collection via field agents is presented as distinct from online crawling

Source: wiser.com, read 24 July 2026. Not published means the vendor states nothing on the pages we read. It is not a claim that a capability or a commercial term does not exist.

Two structural facts are worth carrying into the first call. The first is that the three Intelligence lines look like separate purchases. Their site does not say so outright, so ask rather than assume, but if it is true, then a quote that covers price monitoring may not cover MAP, and a quote that covers MAP may not cover digital shelf. The second is that in-store collection is a different operation from crawling, and operations are priced differently from software. Ask which stores, how often, and what happens to the figure if you add a region.

Where Wiser is the better choice

One of these is not a close call, and pretending otherwise would waste your time.

  • You need physical shelf data as well as web data. Wiser combines online collection with in-store data gathered by a field-agent network. That is a genuine capability and we do not have it. A crawler cannot read a shelf-edge label in a shop, and no amount of web coverage substitutes for someone standing in the aisle. If that is your question, it has exactly one kind of answer and it is not ours.
  • You are a CPG or FMCG brand. Their site names FMCG and CPG brands, non-FMCG brands, ecommerce brands, marketplace sellers and retailers as audiences. A grocery or household-goods brand lives and dies on shelf execution, and a platform that reconciles shelf and web in one place is worth a lot to that buyer.
  • Your requirement spans price, digital shelf and reseller compliance in one contract. Three Intelligence lines under one vendor is a legitimate consolidation argument for a procurement team that does not want three suppliers, three security reviews and three renewal dates.
  • You are enterprise or upper mid-market and want an account team. No trial and no published price is the shape of that market. If you have an implementation budget and a named programme, that motion is not friction, it is the delivery model you are paying for.

Are you the buyer they are built for?

Most people on a page like this have already been quoted and are quietly asking whether they were sized correctly. This is the version of that question you can answer in five minutes.

Signals you genuinely need an enterprise field-data platform

  • Physical retail is a meaningful share of your revenue and your prices differ by store or region.
  • You need to know whether a promotion was actually executed on the shelf, not just agreed in a plan.
  • More than 20,000 SKUs where price and placement are both actively managed.
  • Multiple countries, multiple retail partners and a channel compliance function that already exists.
  • Separate teams for pricing, category management and brand protection, each needing their own reporting.
  • Procurement expects an annual contract, an implementation project and a named account team.

Signals a published-price online tool is the right size

  • Every competitor you care about is a website or a marketplace listing.
  • One to three people touch pricing, and one of them has another job as well.
  • Under about 10,000 SKUs where price is actively managed.
  • The urgent problem is a reseller undercutting your MAP, and you need evidence you can attach to a letter.
  • You want to see the tool working on your own catalogue before you sign anything.
  • A quarterly budget line, not a capital project.

If most of your ticks are on the left, take the demo and negotiate properly, because the alternative genuinely will not do the job. If most are on the right, you are shopping in the wrong aisle and the cheapest way to find out is a trial. If you are split down the middle, buy the smaller thing now and revisit in twelve months, because an enterprise platform sitting on top of a competitive set you have not yet defined is an expensive way to postpone a decision. The general framework is in how to choose price monitoring software.

Where we are different

The first difference is that our price is a page you can read right now. As published on our own pricing page on 24 July 2026: Starter is $99 per month for 500 products at daily refresh, Growth is $299 for 2,500 products at twice-daily refresh, Scale is $699 for 10,000 products at four-times-daily refresh, and Enterprise is custom for unlimited products at hourly refresh with an SLA and SSO. That is the whole list, and it is on our pricing page.

The second is that there are no solution lines. Monitoring, matching, MAP protection, repricing, analytics, the REST API, webhooks, every integration and unlimited users are on every plan including the $99 one. You are never quoted separately for the MAP part. You pay for scale, meaning how many products and how often they refresh, and capability is never the upsell. For a buyer, the practical effect is that adding MAP enforcement in month three is a decision, not a purchase order.

Every row links to a timestamped capture of the listing as it appeared. Repeat counts track the same seller across the enforcement history.

Below-MAP listings with the seller, the gap against MAP and captured evidence. Included on the entry plan, not sold as a separate line.

The third is that matching shows its work. Every match carries a confidence score, and you confirm or correct it in one click, with corrections feeding back into the matcher. Identifier joins on GTIN, UPC or EAN run first, then title and attribute embeddings, then image comparison. Wiser publishes SKU-to-SKU matching as a capability and we make no claim about how accurate it is, because we have not measured it. What we will say is that a score you can sort by is a different working experience from a match you have to take on trust. The method is in the product matching guide.

Matches at or above 95% confidence are applied automatically. Anything below is queued, and every correction you make is fed back into matching.

Matches ranked by confidence, so the uncertain ones surface first instead of hiding inside a good-looking average.

The fourth is that we report on our own data quality, per source. Coverage and freshness sit on a dashboard, extraction recipes regenerate themselves when a competitor changes page layout, a moved product URL is re-found by identifier rather than by link, and you are alerted when a source degrades rather than discovering it from a stale number. Wiser does not publish a per-source data quality report. That is a difference in what each of us discloses, not a statement about their accuracy, which we have not measured and will not assert. The mechanics are on the data quality page.

Wiser cells describe what their site publishes, read 24 July 2026, not an assessment of their capability. Our figures are on our pricing page, and the wider ladder of published prices across the category is in the full pricing study.

How to evaluate the switch

You cannot run two trials, because Wiser does not publish one. Run ours, run their demo, and make both answer the same questions against the same data in the same fortnight.

  1. 1

    Decide the in-store question first

Before anything else, write down whether you need physical shelf data. If the answer is yes, the shortlist is short and this step has saved you the rest of the exercise. If the answer is no, remove it from the requirement document so it does not quietly inflate every quote you receive.

  2. 2

Pick the 50 hardest SKUs, not the bestsellers

Variants, multipacks, bundles, private label, anything without a clean GTIN, and anything where three competitors write the title three different ways. Fifty is small enough to check by hand and awkward enough to be diagnostic. Send the same list to every vendor.

  3. 3

Run our trial on that list

14 days, no credit card, nothing switched off. Import the 50, let matching run, and read the confidence scores as carefully as the matches themselves.

  4. 4

    Check every match by hand

Open each competitor URL the tool assigned and confirm pack size and variant, not just brand and model. Count the wrong ones, and count separately the ones the tool flagged as uncertain. A tool that surfaces its own doubt is more useful than one that is quietly confident.

  5. 5

Make the demo use your data

A demo on a sample catalogue proves nothing about yours. Ask Wiser to match the same 50 SKUs and to show you what they could not match. If a proof of concept is offered, ask in writing whether it is chargeable and what happens to your catalogue data afterwards.

  6. 6

Price the whole configuration, both sides

Products, competitor sites, countries, stores if any, refresh rate, MAP, repricing, API, alerting and users. Total ours at the plan that contains all of it. For Wiser, get a written quote naming the billing metric, stating which Intelligence lines are included, the minimum term and the year-two figure. Compare annual totals, not headline numbers.

  7. 7

    Break something on purpose

Ask both vendors what appears on screen when a source stops returning a price. Look for a capture time beside every number and an alert on degradation rather than on disappearance. Ask how a competitor layout change is detected and repaired, and how long that takes.

Other head-to-heads written to the same sourcing rules are on all comparisons, what the category does generally is on competitor price monitoring, and the enforcement side is on MAP monitoring software.

Start on the same 50 SKUs, today

14 days, no credit card. Monitoring, MAP evidence with screenshots, repricing and the API are all on the $99 plan, in one product with one price.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Wiser cost?

Wiser Solutions does not publish a price. Checked on 24 July 2026, there is no Pricing link in the site navigation, no tiers or editions appear anywhere, and no pricing model, billing metric or scoping variable is stated on any page. The only route to a number is a demo and a quote, so budget for a sales cycle rather than a signup.

Why does wiser.com/pricing not show any prices?

Because it is not a cost page. The URL returns HTTP 200 but serves a product page titled Price Monitoring, describing the Price Intelligence module, with no prices, plans, packages, contract terms or trial terms on it, as checked on 24 July 2026. Search results and old bookmarks pointing there will keep looking like a pricing page and keep not being one.

Does Wiser Solutions offer a free trial?

No trial is published on wiser.com. The calls to action are Book time with us and Book a short demo with Wiser, as read on 24 July 2026, and whether any product access exists before signature is not stated. Our trial is 14 days with no credit card, which is the fastest way to test matching quality on your own catalogue.

What does Wiser do that a web-only price monitoring tool cannot?

In-store data collection through a field-agent network. Wiser presents physical shelf data gathering as distinct from online crawling, and it is a real operational capability. A crawler cannot read a shelf-edge label in a shop, so a price that only ever appears in store will never reach a web-only tool. We do not offer this and cannot replicate it, so if you need it, that decides the shortlist.

Are Wiser Price, Market and MAP Intelligence sold separately?

They appear to be separately sold solution lines, but Wiser never states this explicitly on the site, so treat it as unconfirmed and ask them. It matters because a quote covering price monitoring may not cover MAP, and vice versa. On our side there are no solution lines: monitoring, MAP and repricing are on every plan from $99 per month.

What is the difference between Wiser and Price Intelligence?

Wiser Solutions is a quote-only enterprise platform spanning online and in-store data across three Intelligence lines, aimed at enterprise and upper mid-market brands and retailers. We publish four plans from $99 per month, include monitoring, MAP evidence, repricing, analytics and the API on all of them, and offer a 14-day trial with no card. We collect web data only.
